History and Information about Gurduwara hemkund sahib  : Guru Gobind Singh Ji has published his autobiography 'Vichitra Drama', which is a part of 'Dasam Granth'. It is mentioned in that he had worshiped on the banks of a lake in his former birth,

 which is situated between 7 snow peaks. His name is Hemkund Sahib, Gurdwara Hemkund Sahib situated in the Himalayas is considered one of the most sacred places of the Sikhs. Here, the tenth Guru of the Guru, Guru Gobind Singh ji had meditated in his previous life and found the present life.

This place has a very unusual belief by local residents of the area and it is considered as a place of reverence. People living in the lake and surrounding areas know it by a name ombudsman.

 Let us now tell you about the discovery of Hemkund Sahib Ji, Sant Sohan Singh ji who was in the army at that time had decided to find Hemkund Sahib and in 1930 the lake was discovered. Where there is an ice lake of about 1.5 kilometers in circumference.

 Whose color is blue This lake is known as Hemkund. A gurdwara is built on the side of this lake, where the passengers bow their heads in front of Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Laxmanji's temple is on the other side of this lake. In this temple there is a statue of Goddess Deities along with the statue of Laxman ji.

The way to go to Hemkund

Those traveling by Hemkund Sahib ji stop at a place called Govindghat, 28 kilometers before the arrival of Badrinath Dham. You can travel by road from the Rishikesh to 270 kilometers, after which the journey of 20 kms of Hemkund Sahib from Govindghat is done on foot.

There is a gurudwara in the road that is willing to serve the travelers selflessly. There is a proper arrangement for living and eating for the passengers. Govindghat is situated on the banks of the Alaknanda river. Wherever there is proper arrangement of food and lodging for the passengers. Travelers from Govindghat have to travel 11 kilometers on foot.

 After traveling 10 kilometers of Govindghat, Ghangria reaches the village. One way goes from here to Hemkund Sahib and the other way is to roam the famous inaccessible pilgrimage place.
